How to Play
Learn how to participate in crypto chess challenges and earn rewards
Create Accounts
You'll need a Lichess account to play matches and a crypto wallet (MetaMask) to handle stakes. We only use Lichess as a game provider - all financial transactions happen on the blockchain.
Connect Wallet
Connect your MetaMask wallet to our platform. Make sure you have ETH on the Sepolia testnet to create or accept challenges. Your funds will be securely held in our smart contract during the match.
Create or Accept Challenge
Create a new challenge with your desired stake amount or browse existing challenges to accept. When you create a challenge, your stake is locked in the smart contract. If your challenge is never accepted, you can cancel it and receive your stake back.
Play Your Match
Once a challenge is accepted, both players' stakes are locked. You'll receive a Lichess game link to play your match. Complete the game according to the agreed terms. Our system monitors the game through the Lichess API.
Receive Rewards
After the game concludes, our system verifies the result and the smart contract automatically transfers the combined stakes to the winner's wallet. All transactions are recorded on the blockchain for complete transparency.

Connect your MetaMask wallet with ETH on Sepolia testnet. Your funds will be securely held during matches.
Create/Accept Challenge
Create or accept a challenge. Unclaimed challenges can be cancelled to return your stake.
Play Your Match
Play your match on Lichess while both stakes are locked in our smart contract.
Receive Rewards
The winner automatically receives both stakes through our smart contract.
Enable Notifications
Stay updated on your chess challenges and never miss a game
Open Safari
Launch Safari on your iPhone and navigate to the Lazaro Chess website.
Tap the Share Icon
Tap the Share icon (square with an arrow) at the bottom of your Safari browser.
Add to Home Screen
Scroll down in the share menu and select "Add to Home Screen". Confirm by tapping "Add" in the top-right corner.
Open from Home Screen
Close Safari and open Lazaro Chess by tapping the newly created icon on your home screen. Important: iOS only allows notifications when opened from the home screen, not directly from Safari.
Enable Notifications
Tap the 🔔 "Enable Notifications" button in the app. When prompted by iOS, tap "Allow" to grant permission for notifications.
Confirmation
You'll see a confirmation message that notifications are enabled. You'll now receive alerts for your chess challenges, game results, and important updates.
